Mrs. Figueras's Kindergarten Dual Language class had there Hispanic Heritage celebration. The students had a wonderful time learning about Cuba and Puerto Rico, the countries their teachers are from. Students learned about the history, authentic dishes, clothes, music and instruments from these countries. The students were able to identify how Cuba and Puerto Rico are so similar that even their flags look alike. The class sampled foods, played with musical instruments and the students learned how to salsa dance. We believe learning about other cultures, helps the students to develop a better understanding of the people around them.

ACES students love to engage in hands on learning! Students in Ms. Murray's class test out their parachutes during their first STEM challenge as third graders. #BCSfamily #ACES

Ms. Hudson's kindergarten class learned the steps for respectful listening skills with Ms. Davis during guidance last week. They learned how Howard. B. Wigglebottom, from the Books and Lessons - We Do Listen Foundation, practiced listening and learned a freeze dance to practice their stop, listen, and resume activity skills. #ACES #BCSFAMILY

ACES first grade kicked off their first module of Wit and Wisdom with a book tasting! This module is all about how books change lives around the world. Students have been using story stones and story maps to retell the stories and summarize them in writing. They even made their own mobile libraries to bring the learning to life! #WeAreBCS
