Will Henry


I would like to thank you for your interest in my website.  I am happy to be teaching at Fairview Elementary School.

What professional training and educational background have you had?

I have a psychology/history degree from Auburn University (War Eagle!!).  I hold a master's degree in special education from Jacksonville State University.   I have been teaching for 15 years and have worked at the Elementary, Middle, and High School level. I have enjoyed teaching in multiple settings and across a variety of grade levels and situations. I am a National Board Certified Teacher as well as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with an emphasis in early intervention for children with Autism.

What makes Fairview such a special place to teach?
The whole school community!!    The students, teachers, and parents!!!    

What do you like most about teaching at Fairview?
I really enjoying watching a child learn, grow, and interact with friends on a daily basis.  It is incredible to watch a 5 year old transition to a 5th grader.

How would you describe your classroom?
Structured Fun.  Motivated learners.

What is your favorite quote about education, children and/or learning?
For which classroom projects/events are you known?
Special Olympics.
How does Fairview create 21st century learners who collaborate with others and have a true passion for learning?
Every room in our school is full of technology.  Students and staff collaborate and interact both face to face as well as digitally to increase learning.
In what ways can parents take an active role in your classroom and in their child's learning?
Communication and visitation.  We have an open classroom and love visits from parents.
Is there anything else you would like to share about your classroom?
It is a fun place to be.
