Welcome to Music at Haw Creek Elementary!
My name is Mrs. Garnett and I am your music teacher! This is my sixth year in Buncombe County and I am enjoying every minute of it. I grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee, which is not too far from here. I have a degree in Music Education from the University of Tennessee. You will hear me cheering on the Vols on gameday!! I taught in Tennessee for three years before coming to Asheville to teach.
My primary instrument is the clarinet, but I enjoy playing all instruments! I am currently a member of the Asheville Clarinet Quartet. It is so rewarding making music with other musicians! I also spend my time in the fall assisting with the A.C. Reynolds Marching Band. It is wonderful to see the previous Haw Creek students enjoying music as they grow.
