Ferguson, Victoria (AIG)

Victoria Ferguson, Gifted Specialist at Haw Creek

Now in my 12th year of teaching, I am delighted to be the AIG teacher here at Haw Creek! After teaching in the regular classroom for seven years at Haw Creek, I moved into the AIG program.  It is wonderful to have the opportunity to work with gifted students here at the school I love.
I graduated from UNC-Asheville with a Bachelors degree in Environmental Biology/Ecology and a K-6 teaching license. After teaching for several years, I earned my Masters degree and teaching certification in Gifted Education through Western Carolina University. Before teaching in schools, I worked with children of all ages, taught horseback riding lessons, worked as a director of a summer horse camp, and served as an environmental educator for the U.S. Forest Service.
I have a passion for working with gifted students and helping them navigate through school and life with their unique talents, perspectives, and issues. I am excited about the ideas we will share, new discoveries we will make, and all we will accomplish this year!
I am at Haw Creek on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  Please feel free to contact me at school by phone or email.
